Nicole Ward is the driving force behind the Make Them Know Your Name Foundation (MTKYN). The foundation was established by Denzel Ward, cornerback for the Cleveland Browns, in memory of his father, Paul G. Ward Jr., who passed away in 2016 due to cardiac arrest at the age of 46.
MTKYN's mission is to address the heart disease epidemic by providing CPR training, AED equipment and resources, and community education to promote heart-healthy lifestyles. With nearly half a million Americans dying each year from cardiac arrest, according to the American Heart Association, and a fatality rate of almost 90 percent, immediate CPR can significantly increase survival chances.
MTKYN aims to reduce heart-related fatalities nationwide by offering the necessary resources and education on heart health. The foundation is driven by individuals’ and organizations’ commitment to positively impacting heart disease prevention. Denzel Ward and his family, having experienced the sudden loss of their patriarch, are devoted to carrying on his legacy through this vital work.
